Busy Portlaoise road set to close for repairs

Busy road beside leisure centre needs patching.

Laois County Council is set to close the busy Ridge Road in Portlaoise at the end of May for work on the surface.

The local authority says a 100 metre stretch of the road that runs parallel to the Portlaoise Leisure Centre playground needs to be closed to traffic because it requires patching work.

The dates and times of the road closure are below the council's map of the work area and diversion.

  • Monday, May 29 - 6pm to 11pm
  • Tuesday, May 30 - 6pm  to 11pm

The work will be carried out on a section starting at the junction of Park View and Ridge Road to the Esker Hills roundabout just after the railway bridge.

People will be able to divert via Church St, Station Road, Coote St, and Green Mill Lane.
