Work at the busy roundabout.
Motorists travelling between Portlaoise, Tullamore, Carlow and Mountmellick can expect disruption to their journeys this week due to road works on the busy N80 in Portlaoise.
Laois County Council has confirmed that temporary traffic arrangements will be in place at the Corrib Roundabout in Portlaoise on the N80 until Saturday.
The local authority say that the temporary traffic arrangements are needed to accommodate public lighting work. Footpaths in the vicinity have the junction have also been closed.
They add that the arrangements would be required from 8am to 6pm daily from Tuesday, November 7 to Friday, November 10 inclusive.
The roundabout is located at the Fairgreen housing and retail area on the outskirts of Portlaoise on the Mountmellick side of town. It also intersects with the Portlaoise Western Orbital Route which links with the Mountrath Road.
The council said the work would be confined to the footpaths and verges and would not affect traffic. However, delays were experienced by motorists on the day the project began.
