Bank holiday traffic delays expected due to Laois lorry crash

Two lorries have collided on the main street of this Laois town

Bank holiday traffic delays expected due to Laois lorry crash

The main street in Abbeyleix is currently closed off due to a road accident.

A lorry carrying a load of timber was attempting to pass another lorry on the main street in Abbeyleix, when both vehicles collided.

Abbeyleix serves the Laois to Kilkenny N77 route, with the delay likely to cause significant traffic disruption to motorists travelling for the bank holiday weekend.

Emergency services are currently attending the scene, where a clean up operation is in place.
