Delays warned due to fortnight of Portlaoise roadworks

Telfords store alerts shoppers to Laois County Council works

Delays warned due to fortnight of Portlaoise roadworks
Laois shoppers and drivers are being alerted to traffic delays ahead of two weeks of roadworks in Portlaoise.
The Telfords hardware and electrical store in Portlaoise is reassuring its customers that they will open as normal, during a fortnight of a one-way system on Fr Browne Avenue.
The local retail business says that the roadworks will start on Monday, January 26 and last until Friday, February 6.
"What this means for customers: A temporary one-way system will be in operation. Diversion routes will be clearly signposted. Access to Telfords will remain available throughout the works. Some delays may occur during working hours.
"Please note that parking may be restricted in the immediate works area during working hours, as vehicles obstructing the works may be removed," say Telfords.
Laois County Council has confirmed that they will be resurfacing Fr Browne Avenue, between Fr Browne Avenue Roundabout at the Abbeyleix Road / O'Moore Park Laois GAA grounds, to the Clonminam Ind Estate junction.
The roadworks will take place on weekdays only and excluding Bank Holiday Monday February 2, from 8am to 6pm.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via J17 National Enterprise Park in Togher.
