Laois gardaí are investigating an alleged hit and run incident that occurred over the weekend.
On Friday April 10 at approximately 9pm, a delivery driver was allegedly injured in a hit and run on the Abbeyleix road, Ballinakill.
While retrieving food from the rear passenger seat of his vehicle, the car door was struck by a large van driving past, causing injuries to the driver. The van allegedly did not stop.
The injured man was taken to the hospital with injuries that are described as non-serious.
Both the injured party and the driver of the van have been identified by gardaí. The incident is currently under investigation.
