St Michael's Athletic Club in Portarlington recently traveled to Kildangan for the Alan Mahon 5k.
The course is a loop that takes in the fabulous grounds of Kildangan stud. The race had a super atmosphere and that was only helped by St Michael's Derek Bracken being first over the line in a time of 17:32 minutes. A super time considering Derek ran the Slievebloom Marathon. They also had Kate Connolly on the podium. Kate came 3rd with a PB of 19:44 minutes.
15 runners competed from St Michael's at event. Derek Bracken, Philip & Caroline Cullen, Owen, Kate & Riley Connolly, Kevin Mulpeter, Paul & Caroline Costigan, George Sharp, Siobhán O’Loughlin, Dave & Lisa Sweeney, Con Lawler and Deirdre Cotter all ran a superb race.
