Social media is full of opinions and that is certainly the case for a request made by Mark Allen recently.
The Antrim snooker player, nicknamed 'The Pistol', said he needed a band, singer or DJ to perform for 'free' during an event in March.
People took to social media to give their strong views on Allen's post. One person said: "There are some good people out there and clearly, you aren’t one of them. Not paying people for work is just wrong."
Another 'X' user commented: "An up-and-coming band getting that exposure will be worth more than a fee, they don’t know what the event is.. it may be a good cause, a charity or such like.. either way.. who are they to judge?"
Allen replied to the negative remarks by saying: "So many people replying saying I’m being cheeky asking for a freebie or I won’t get anyone doing it for free. Hilarious considering I’ve had at least 50 ones come forward offering their services for free so far. There are some good people out there. Haters gonna hate."
