Laois' Nicole Turner takes part in Paralympics 50m Freestyle final

Nicole Turner has finished sixth in the Women's 50m Freestyle S6 final in the La Defense Arena in Paris.

The Portarlington swimmer recorded a time of 35.65. The Gold medal was won by Jiang Yuyan and in doing so she broke the Paralympic record which she had set in qualifying for the final on Thursday morning. 

Turner's next race will be on Tuesday, September 3 in the S6 50m Fly with her heat at 09.15am. This was the event which saw Turner claim a Silver medal at the Paralympics in Tokyo.
