Irish snooker star Ken Doherty revealed that he was rushed to hospital for an urgent hernia operation this week.
Doherty was taken to the Mater Hospital in Dublin after experiencing severe pain around his belly button earlier this week according to the Irish Mirror, which escalated to the point where surgery became necessary.
It was discovered that Ken had an umbilical hernia near his navel, which was removed.
The Darlin' of Dublin assured followers that he is recovering after sharing a hospital bed selfie following his umbilical hernia operation.
Doherty even cracked a joke about his road to recovery, which will prohibit snooker, golf, and even laughing.

"Want to thank all the staff in @MaterPrivate hospital for all their care and assistance today. No snooker, golf or laughing, don’t know how I will cope!"
Many of Ken's friends and followers wished him well in his recovery, with comedian Jason Byrne adding: "Take care Ken. Stay away from the priest ep of anonymous so, ye genius ye".
Several other famous faces in the world of snooker passed their well wishes on to Ken, while ex-Irish goalkeeper Shay Given said the Dublin snooker player will "be back up on your feet in no time".
