The event will welcome over 110,000 visitors across the 5 days at Ireland's biggest equestrian event
The 150th edition of the Dublin Horse Show is underway at the RDS in Ballsbridge. One of the highlights of the summer, the five-day event will run until August 10 with over 110,000 visitors expected across its duration.
A special exhibition will be on the display in the main hall in the RDS to mark the anniversary edition of the event while a prize fund of €1.4 million will be divided between across the 168 competitions.
Over the five days, over 1,600 horses will come through the venue.
Each day of the show will be packed with events from the best talents in the sport with 61 international riders competing across various events.

Wednesday and Thursday will host the Minerva Stakes, Sport Ireland Classic and the Anglesea Speed Stakes among the highlights in the opening two days. The show will also showcase the young classes in Showing, Eventing and Showjumping which will give spectators a chance to witness the next up and coming stars across the sport.
The coveted Aga Khan trophy will take place on Friday where eight of the world's best teams will battle it out in the Nations cup of Ireland. USA are the current champions but will face stiff competition this year from their opponents with teams from Canada, The Netherlands, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico, Switzerland and of course Ireland making up the rest of a very decorated field.
Saturday is Puissance day at the show where riders will try to scale the big red wall with proceedings concluding then on Sunday where the Rolex Grand Prix of Ireland will take centre stage. The grand Prix will offer the largest individual prize fund with the winner pocketing €500,000.
It's an exciting time for Irish Equestrian in recent times with the Showjumping team establishing themselves as one of the World's best. The team was crowned as the best nation in the world on the FEI Longines League of Nations ranking for the last two years. There are seven Irish riders in the top fifty in the world of the Longines ranking. It's a monumental achievement for the Irish team who will be hoping to once again showcase their quality and win silverware on home soil in the Horse Show this week.

Irish manager Michael Blake has named an experienced squad for the home showpiece in the capital. It consists the seasoned trio of Tipperary's Denis Lynch (Vistogrand), Dublin's Cian O' Connor (Bentley De Sury), Offaly's Darragh Kenny (Eddy Blue) who will be paired with up and coming pair, Tipperary's Tom Wachman (Tobasco De Toxandria Z) and Kilkenny's Seamus Hughes Kennedy with the Irish-bred ESI Rocky (ISH).
Ireland's most capped rider Cian O' Connor is relishing the opportunity to compete for the AGA Khan trophy in the Irish capital saying "The Nations cup is always a huge event for us, especially on home soil. The Irish team is strong and motivated, we're determined to retain the nations cup title in front of our home crowd".
Cian also spoke on the impact of the Rolex Series on the sport saying "the Rolex Series is undoubtedly the best events in the world. The shows are fantastic, the competition is world class and the prize money and the following reflect it's prestige. It's an honour for Dublin to be part of this label, standing alongside the most legendary venues globally".
The Irish Horse Board will host a trade stand in the Simmonscourt arena at the RDS throughout the duration of the show. For those who are unable to attend, the IHB will also provide live updates throughout the week on the Irish Horse Board social media channels and their website IHB.ie.
Sections of the Horse Show will be shown on RTÉ 2 during the week with coverage taking place from 1:45pm to 6:35pm on Friday as well as 5:35 to 7:45 on Saturday evening. Sunday's finale will also be broadcast on RTE 1 from 2:40pm to 5:40pm. Ruby Walsh, Gerry Mullins and Nicola Fitzgibbon will present the RTE coverage of the Dublin Horse Show on Friday and Saturday.
Tickets are still available for the showpiece which is the one of the Pinnacle's of the Global equestrian calendar. A five day ticket will cost €85.10 for an adult and €68.60 for concession which include the child, student and OAP tickets.
A day ticket will cost €30.95 for an adult with a day concessions ticket coming in at €26.45.
