A Civic Reception to honour a young Laois boy who was crowned the World Champion at Irish Dancing has been held at County Hall. Bobby Kinsella from Stradbally won the Under 11 category in An Chomhdháil Irish Dancing World Championships in Killarney, where Michael Flatley expressed hope that Bobby can grow up to be part of Lord of The Dance. He dances with the Lynam School of Irish Dancing, founded by his grandmother Gabriel Lynam, where his mother Carmel also works as a dance teacher. Laois County Council decided to hold a Civic Reception in honour of the achievement after it was proposed by Cllr Paschal McEvoy and seconded by Cllr Catherine Fitzgerald. Photographer Michael Scully was there to capture the special occasion on Thursday, February 6.
