The Fields of Athenry has been given a gentle and melodic makeover by the Mountmellick Men's Shed band in Laois.

Accompanied by music tutors Denise Boyle and David Harte from Music Generation Laois, this is four minutes of cosiness to warm any heart this Valentine's Day!

The active Mountmellick group have recently launched a podcast.

Last Christmas they donated cheques to two local good causes, and launched their first calendar illustrated by a member.

The shed is based behind Mountmellick Community Arts Centre, meeting several times a week. Along with the band taught by Laois Music Generation they have a carpentry workshop with tutor Jack Byrne, and many more activities.
