Dancers with the Buggie School of Irish Dancing won a whopping 41 medals at this year's Irish Dancing World Championships in Killarney.

Dancers from the Buggie School of Irish Dancing competed at the An Chomhdhail World Irish Dance Championships in Killarney last week. 

Their teachers, Gráinne Buggie, Brid-Ann Buggie & Ann-Marie Kelly told the Leinster Express / Laois Live that they are extremely proud of each of their students who graced the world stage, some for their very first time.
Their youngest competitors of 7 and 8 years of age competed in the u10 fairy reel competition. 
In total, they brought home 41 world medals to Laois. 
Leah McDonald from The Rock Mountmellick who competed in the girls u10 championship, and Emma McDonald from Stradbally who competed in the u11 championship, won a 5th and 6th place medal.
Millie-Ann Buggie from Stradbally competed in the girls u11 championship, Sophie Ellis from Cullahill competed in the u12 championship.

Chloe Ni Lochlain from Portlaoise competed in the u13 championship and Fiona Buggie, Stradbally competed in the u14 championship. These four ladies brought home an incredible three world medals each. 
Kate Sheridan from Stradbally brought home another medal in the girls u16 championship.
Violet Kruger O’Connell and Aisling Mills competed two beautiful rounds in the girls u12 and u19 championships.
The dancers were also very successful in the figure dance championships, winning 4th place in the u14 invention championship, 5th place in the u12 fairy reel championship and 5th place in the u12 céilí championship.
