Laois Forest School  is an educational initiative that focuses on outdoor learning and nature-based education for learners of all ages.
It offers a unique learning environment where learners engage with the natural world through hands-on activities, fostering a deep connection with nature, promoting environmental stewardship, and enhancing social and cognitive skills.
Located outside of Located outside of Rosenallis, , Laois Forest School emphasises experiential learning, creativity, and holistic development in a woodland setting.
"We had the pleasure of welcoming the ELC Stage 2 group from LOETB Portlaoise Institute to Laois Forest School on Monday for a hands-on, feet-in-the-earth kind of training day!" said Ailbhe Joyce of Laois Forest School.
Together, we built fairy fires and explored fire safety and skills, practised bird ID and played the ever-surprising tarp game!" she said.
"We took on team-building obstacle courses with laughter and teamwork leading the way!.
"It was inspiring to see this amazing group bring such curiosity, energy, and joy into the forest. We are wishing them all the best on their journey as early years educators — the future is in very good hands!" Ms Joyce finished.
