Laois floods: Council issues new warning of more flooding with many parts already under water

Many parts of Laois are under floods, with worse expected to come as heavy rain is forecasted this weekend. While it causes some pretty scenes in rural areas, it is also causing untold financial damage to households, businesses and farmers. What is the scene in your local area? Laois County Council has issued a fresh update this Friday at noon, warning of further floods.

"Laois County Council's Severe Weather Assessment Team continues to monitor water levels across Laois. There is an ongoing risk of localised flooding today (Friday) as another band of rain crosses County Laois. Please allow extra time for your journey today and do not drive through floods."
