Laois Public Participation Network has successfully delivered a series of outreach clinics across all eight Laois Library branches.
The outreach clinics were aimed at supporting community groups to access Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) funding.
Laois PPN Co-Ordinator, Dan Bergin, said “these Laois PPN Outreach Clinics were about meeting community groups where they are and making funding information as accessible and supportive as possible. We saw great engagement across the county and very positive feedback from community groups who felt more confident and informed about applying for LEP funding.” Click NEXT for more images. The clinics played a key role in raising awareness of LEP funding opportunities and provided clear, accessible information and practical support to a wide range of community groups. Groups attending the clinics were seeking guidance on funding for a diverse range of local projects and initiatives from across the county.
The LEP is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and administered by the Local Community Development Committees in each local authority area. Community groups are able to apply for LEP funding for support with facility upgrades, accessibility improvements, energy-efficiency measures and essential equipment.
By bringing the clinics directly into local library branches, Laois PPN facilitated strong engagement at community level, ensuring community groups could access support in a welcoming and inclusive setting. The clinics empowered community groups with the knowledge and confidence needed to apply for funding and progress their projects.
