Proposal lodged to build additional homes in Kilnacourt Woods in Portarlington

A planning application has been lodged with Laois County Council to build 12 additional homes to be accessed via the big Kilnacourt Woods estate in Portarlington. 

Balatina Limited has submitted the application which proposes the construction of 12 two-storey homes in the large estate in the centre of the town which was built during the Celtic Tiger property boom.

The development will consist of 2 Type A semi-detached two-bedroom homes, 2 Type A end terrace two-bedroom, 3 Type A1 mid terrace two-bedroom, 2 Type B semi-detached two-bedroom, 2 Type B end terrace two-bedroom, and 1 Type B1 mid terrace two-bedroom.

The application also includes access through the existing Kilnacourt Wood housing development, internal access roads and footpaths, foul and surface water sewers to connect to existing public sewers, boundary treatments, landscaping and all ancillary site services.

Laois County Council are due to make a decision by 5 February, 2025.
