Two Laois housing estates that were built over a decade ago are finally to be taken in charge by Laois County Council.
Both had been left with outstanding construction issues to be sorted.
The Glen, Kilnacourt was built over 15 years ago near Portarlington Train Station.
A year ago, Cllr Aidan Mullins said over a year ago that residents were "at their wits end" waiting for it to be taken over.
Cill Beg Manor in Stradbally is the second estate to be finally taken over.
Cllr Paschal McEvoy had asked last April when the Stradbally estate would be taken over, complaining that he had heard "promise after promise".

Laois County Council has announced its intention to advertise both of the estates to be taken in charge this July.
If approved by councillors at their next meeting in late July, it means that the local authority will then be in charge of maintaining the streetlights, water and sewage drains, footpaths and roadways.
