Portlaoise is set to host the national senior competitions within the Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps this weekend.
On Saturday 5 October, competitors taking part in the competition will be participating in first aid scenarios in several locations around Portlaoise.
The Order of Malta Ambulance Corps was established in 1938 and since then it has become a major provider of first-aid services and training, ambulance transport, and community and elderly care services across Ireland. The organisation has over 2,500 volunteers in over 62 locations.
The Portlaoise Unit of the Order of Malta Ireland Ambulance Corps said that it is proud to be hosting this year's national competitions. The unit has encouraged people to stop by the events and learn more about the fantastic work they do in the community.
