Portlaoise Pool reopens following service repairs

The pool was closed for nine days due to ventilation issues.

Portlaoise pool temporarily closed to public

Laois Leisure Portlaoise have finally reopened their swimming pool following repairs.

The pool first closed on Wednesday September 25 due to a ventilation system failure.

The leisure centre were unable to give a confirmed timeline for reopening, yet were 'optimistic of a speedy resolution'.

It took several days for a contractor to repair the system, but the pool is once again open to the public.

The leisure centre have apologised for the inconvenience caused, and welcome the public back.
The leisure centre was recently awarded over €216,000 in funding to replace the moveable floor in the swimming pool, and carry out associated works. This funding was granted under the Community Sport Facilities Fund.
Laois Leisure Portlaoise have yet to comment on this funding.
A total of €5,856,341 was awarded to sports facilities and clubs around Laois.
