Portlaoise hospital issues update on outpatient appointments

Normal services at the outpatient department will resume on Wednesday, January 8

Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise will resume normal services at their outpatient department on Wednesday, January 8. 
The hospital cancelled all outpatient appointments on Monday and Tuesday this week due to the weather but said they will resume tomorrow. 


"The hospital will continue to monitor and update on any changes," said a spokesperson for the hospital. 


A status orange low temperature and ice warning for Laois will remain in place until 10am on Wednesday morning followed by a status yellow warning. A second status orange warning will come into effect at 6pm on Wednesday and remain in place until 11am Thursday. Extremely cold conditions are expected with widespread severe frost, ice and lying snow.
