Sinn Féín party leader Mary Lou McDonald will join Laois senator Maria McCormack in a public meeting campaigning for awareness around endometriosis.

This public meeting is part of Senator McCormack's ongoing Endometriosis Campaign, aimed at raising awareness and demanding better healthcare services for women living with the debilitating condition.

The event will take place on Wednesday, April 23 at 7pm in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise.

It will feature powerful testimonies and insights from campaigners and advocates, including Paula Byrne, Jess Ní Mhaoláin, and Sarah Jane Allen.

Uachtarán Shinn Féin Mary Lou McDonald will join Senator McCormack to lend her support and solidarity to this crucial cause.

“Endometriosis is one of the most underdiagnosed and misunderstood conditions affecting women in Ireland today," Senator McCormack said ahead of the event.

"For too long, women have suffered in silence, dismissed or ignored by a broken healthcare system. This campaign is about giving women a voice, demanding proper services, and ensuring no one is left behind.”

The public meeting will serve as a platform for women and families to share their experiences, ask questions, and push for urgent policy change to ensure timely diagnosis, appropriate care pathways, and investment in specialist services.

Members of the public, healthcare professionals, and media are invited to attend.
