Laois County Council has impounded a horse, taken from a road in Portlaoise town.

The local authority's housing section has given notice that it impounded the horse on Wednesday, September 17, at Green Mill Lane, Portlaoise.

They describe the horse as a Bay Male. Bay horses are reddish brown in colour.

The council states that the horse will be kept for five working days, during which time the owner can come to claim it.

After that time, from next Tuesday, September 23, the horse can be available for rehoming, or it can be disposed of.
