Passengers facing delays in Portlaoise and other Laois stations on Monday, April 13.
Irish Rail has warned that train services in Laois are facing ‘significant delays’ on Monday evening following an incident in Kildare.
Earlier on Monday services were suspended between Kildare-Newbridge due to a vulnerable person near the line. Services later resumed operating under extreme caution.
Iarnród Éireann has warned that this will have a knock-on effect for commuters at Laois stations including Portlaoise, Portarlington and Ballybrophy.

“Significant delays can be expected as a result of services being suspended, combined with congestion,” said a spokesperson for Irish Rail.
“Delays of up to +50mins can be expected for commuter and Intercity services as a result.”
