Three Laois Fire service appliances rush through heavy Portlaoise traffic

A trio of Laois Fire & Rescue vehicles have had to negotiate heavy Christmas shopper traffic through Portlaoise town centre, to respond to an incident this afternoon.

Two Portlaoise fire appliances and a support jeep sped through the town with sirens blazing at 2.45pm today.

The town is choc a block with festive shoppers today Thursday December 21.

It is understood that a car overturned in a road traffic accident on the Portlaoise to Abbeyleix road near Dalton's Garage.

It is understood that there have been no serious injuries.
