Laois businessman Pat Miller, who has passed away .
The death has taken place today of a well known Laois businessman, after an illness.
Pat Miller was the proprietor of Miller's Hardware for over 40 years in Portlaoise town centre, and supported businesses in the town as a stalwart member of the traders group.
He was also a great supporter of Laois GAA and local clubs.
Mr Miller closed his hardware business last year, citing the difficulty of trading in a town centre as an independent business. His son Patrick since started a new Miller's Hardware business on the Dublin road.
Mr Miller passed away today at his home, aged 70. A native of Timahoe, he lived in Meelick outside Portlaoise.
He is survived by his Patsy, daughter Olga, sons Patrick and Ronan, son-in-law Liam, daughters-in-law Nikki and Claire and grand-children Ryan, Sarah and Ewan, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and a large circle of friends.
Reposing will be at his residence from 2pm on Thursday with Recital of the Rosary at 8pm on Thursday evening. Removal on Friday morning at 12.15 am to arrive at Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe for 1pm Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery.
