Olive Foley, the wife of the late Irish rugby international Anthony 'Axel Foley', is among the guest speakers at the upcoming Portlaoise Parish Novena.
Ms Foley credited her faith in God to her to cope with the sudden death in Paris of the former Irish and Munster star in 2016. She will speak on the second last night of the Novena on Saturday, March 30.
She donated €30,000 from the sales of a commemorative match day programme to the charity the Children’s Grief Centre. Olive is now an official ambassador of the centre run by Sr Helen Culhane.
The Novena, which takes place from March 23 to 31, features a number of lay and religious speakers.
