Laois land sells in lots for whopping €1.5 million

A Laois property was divided into parcels of land, and auctioned off for a combined €1.5 million.

On Friday June 6, Joe Coogan Auctioneer offered for sale 60 acres at Ballynagall, Ballickmoyler Co Laois.

A 5.481-acre field sold for €190,000, pricing at €36,651 per acre.

An old single storey farmhouse residence was auctioned along with 34.083 acres, which sold for €940,000, coming in at €27,80 per acre.

A 9.723-acre field sold for €221,000, retailing at €22,730 per acre.

The final 10.91 acre field sold for €240,000, a total of €22,240 per acres.

Attendees of the auction have told the Leinster Express / Laois Live that there were several 'very active bidders' for each parcel of land.

The auction was held at his auction room Ballycomey House, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny with what has been described as a 'large crowd' of people in attendance.

Joe Coogan Auctioneer, with expertise knowledge of selling lands, has several more land sales coming on board in the next few months.

All auctions will be held each Friday at 3pm at the auction room, Ballycomey House, Castlecomer Co Kilkenny. R95 NN6D.

Friday July 11, 18.5 acres in one lot, situated at Doonane, Crettyard will also go under the hammer.

Featuring land in four counties, the auctions will feature land in Kilkenny, Tipperary and Carlow.

On Friday June 20, a lot consisting of 34 acres at Newchurch, Kilmoganny, Co Kilkenny will go on auction.

Friday July 4 will see an 11-acre field, situated at Lower Muckalee, Co Kilkenny for sale.

On Friday July 25, a 12-acre field, situated at Gorthnahoe, Urlingford, Co Tipperary will be open for bidding.

Friday August 8 will see 40 acres available in one block, situated at Ballinaboley, Leighlinbridge, Co. Carlow.
