Plans lodged to build 23 new houses and apartments in Laois town

A planning application has been lodged with Laois County Council to build 23 apartments and houses in Mountrath.

Applicants Patrick Percival and James Sex are seeking permission to build a range of housing, at Ard Erin, Dysartbeagh in Mountrath.

They wish to build seven one-bedroom apartments, two two-bedroom terrace houses, four two bedroom town houses, and finally nine three-bedroom terraced houses.

There would also be a bin bay, bike bay, roads, services and all associated site works as part of the property development.

Permission is also sought to demolish existing agricultural shed and associated site works.

The application was lodged on December 8 and a decision is due by mid February 2026.

No planning documents related to the application are yet published on Laois County Council's planning website.
