A huge price was paid for land leasing in Laois last week.

Auctioneer, Joseph Coogan said that there was very good interest at his land letting auction which took place last week. The lands, situated at Coole, Kilbricken, Mountrath, is of prime grazing quality in one block which also included a cattle crush and a  water supply.

Approximately 15 people attended the auction, and bidding was very brisk between two active bidders. The land was eventually leased for €300 per acre, per year for a 5 year lease to a Laois dairy farmer. There were no entitlements with this land.

"We have received a lot of enquiries from farmers actively looking for grazing and tillage lands in County Laois and surrounding counties," noted Joseph Coogan. "Should you be interested in letting your lands please do not hesitate to contact Joseph Coogan Auctioneer for the best advice in selling or leasing your land."

Joseph Coogan can be contacted anytime on his mobile 087 2579012.
