Eir seek permission for 59 foot telecom mast in Laois town

A telecommunication mast

Irish telecom company Eir has applied for permission to erect a 59 foot tall mast in a Laois town.

Eir has lodged a planning application with Laois County Council for a mast in Rathdowney.

They seek permission to erect a monopole telecommunications support structure together with antennas, dishes and associated equipment. It will be 18 metres tall which is just over 59ft.

The address is Eir Exchange, (ITM Grid Reference: X628024, Y678487), Rathdowney.

The application was lodged on December 5, and as yet no planning files have been uploaded onto the online planning portal. A decision is due by February 7, 2026.
