Man dead following 'tragic accident' in Laois takeaway on St Patrick's Day

A man has died in Laois after a tragic fall in a takeaway restaurant on St Patrick's Day.

The fall has been described by Gardaí as "a tragic accident", speaking to the Leinster Express / Laois Live.

It is understood that the man, aged in his early 50s, fell down a stairs at the business which is in Ballylinan.

It occurred on the evening of St Patrick's Day, Sunday, March 17.

A post mortem will take place and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

The deceased man's name is not yet released.
