Laois community mourns the loss of well known counsellor

The death has occurred of Maura Russell, formerly Mackney, Ballinasloe, Co.Galway and Larragan, Clonaslee, Co.Laois.

Maura was a well known counsellor and psychotherapist, and former Director of The Rutland Centre Dublin and Blue Lotus Centre Celbridge.

Maura passed peacefully after a long illness bravely borne surrounded by her loving family in the tender care of Nuala and her staff at Hillside Nursing Home, Aughrim, Ballinasloe, Co. Galway, on the 4th of August, 2024.

Predeceased by her parents Tom and Margaret Russell. Maura will be deeply missed by her sisters Margaret (Peg) (London), Catherine (Wicklow), Anne (Athlone) and Patricia (Trish) (Ballinasloe), her brothers Gerard (Larragan, Clonaslee) and T (Killoughey, Tullamore), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and her close friends.

May Her Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

Maura will repose in the residence of Trish and Joe Hanney, Mackney, Ballinasloe (H53 EV70), on Tuesday the 6th of August, from 5pm to 8pm, with Rosary at 8pm.

Private removal on Wednesday morning to St. Manman's Church, Clonaslee, Co.Laois (R32 N6E5), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by private cremation afterwards.
