The untimely passing has occurred in Portlaoise of Ronke Adebari, the wife of the former Portlaoise councillor and Ireland's first black town mayor Rotimi Adebari.
The family announced on RIP.ie that Ibironke Adebari (née Aina) of Colliers Court, Portlaoise had passed away.
"It is with heavy hearts that we announce the home call of our beloved mother and wife; Ibironke Olajumoke Adebari nee Aina who slept in the Lord on Tuesday, August 27, surrounded by her loving family," said the notice.
Apart from her husband Rotimi, Ronke is survived by her children Damilare, Opeayo, Ireayo, and Temilayo. She is also mourned by brothers, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.
There will be a service of songs for Ronke at the Laois Bible Church (her home church) on Main Street in Abbeyleix on Thursday, September 5 at 7pm. It can be views at https://youtube.com/live/UXLHUFPMgZk?feature=share
Ronke’s will repose on Friday, September 6 at Keegan’s Funeral Home Portlaoise at 6:30pm.
Her funeral service shall be held at SS Peter and Paul’s Church, Portlaoise on Saturday, September 7 at 2pm. It can be viewed at www.portlaoiseparish.ie/webcam/
Her remains will be laid to rest immediately afterwards at SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery in Portlaoise. MORE BELOW PICTURE.

Her husband Rotimi was elected as a town councillor for Portlaoise at the 2004 local elections. He became Ireland's first black mayor in June 2007 when he was elected mayor of Portlaoise Town Council.
