Janice passed away on the 3rd of January 2025 in the wonderful care of the Nurses and Staff at Droimnín Nursing Home, Stradbally, Laois. Deeply regretted by The Dillon Family, Portlaoise. Private Burial will take place in Oakvale Cemetery, Stradbally, Co. Laois.

Josephine Monaghan (née Conroy)- Portlaoise
The death has occurred of Josephine Monaghan (née Conroy), Ridge Road, Portlaoise, County Laois.
Died 7th January 2025 in the loving care of Droimnín Nursing home. Predeceased bye her husband Aidan. Deeply regret by her loving daughter Ann, son in law Aengus and dearly loved grandson David, brothers, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May Josephine Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Keegan's Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:30pm until 8pm with rosary at 7:30pm. Removal on Thursday to SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise for 2pm requiem mass. Interment will follow immediately afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Michael Hogan- Mountrath
The death has occurred of Michael Hogan, Drimmo, Mountrath, County Laois.
Michael passed away peacefully on the 7th January 2025, in the care of the staff at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret, siblings Lily, Podge, Charlie, Rita (Scully) and Kathleen (Dooley). Deeply regretted by his sisters Mary (Phelan) and Sarah (Dowling) brothers Billy, Tony and John, brother-in-law , sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family relatives and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Thursday evening (Jan 9th) from 6.0’clock concluding with Rosary at 7.0’clock. Removal on Friday morning (Jan 10th) to St. Fergal’s Church Camross for Requiem Mass at 11.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Cemetery.

The death has occurred of Brigid(Nancy) Davin nèe Campion, Tentore, Ballacolla and formerly of Graine, Urlingford Co. Kilkenny on Monday, January 6, 2025. Unexpectedly but peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Billy. Removal from funeral home on Friday 10th January at 11.30am via Knockanoran to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballacolla, for 12 Noon Requiem Mass, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
Emily Ellen Culhane - Abbeyleix
The death has occurred of Emily Ellen Culhane of The birches lower Boley, Abbeyleix, Co.Laois. Died January 5th 2025. Unexpectedly at Beaumont Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Dearly loved daughter to Sean and Bernie and beloved sister to Sam.

The death has occurred of Bill O`Shea. 20 O`Moore Place, Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully on 7th January 2025. Surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Portlaoise. Predeceased by his parents. Edward and Julia. Sisters Mary, Mag, Diana, Betty, Angela, Geraldine, brothers Sonny, Oliver, Frankie. Sons Joseph, and Christopher, and Liam. Grandson Jamie-Lee. Deeply regretted by his heart broken sisters Ann, Lucy, Sheila, Jacinta and Bernie, brothers Paul and Michael, children Paul, William, John, Patrick, Caroline and Shannon and all his beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at his granddaughter Tanya Culbert's residence in Stradbally (R32AEY1) on Tuesday evening from 7 pm. With rosary at 8 pm on Wednesday reposing at his own residence at 20 O`Moore place from 3 pm. With rosary at 8 pm. Removal on Thursday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 11 am Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Br. Michael (Finian) Loran - Castletown.
The death has occurred of Br. Michael (Finian) Loran, De La Salle Brothers, Castletown, Portlaoise, Co. Laois and late of Hightown, Coralstown, Co. Westmeath. Died January 7th 2025, peacefully in the loving care of the community and staff of Miguel House.
Predeceased by his parents William and Mary, his brothers Tom, Bill, Jim, Paddy, Jack, sisters-in-law Kitty, Joan and Bridge, brother-in-law Noel. Sadly missed by his sister Margaret, sister-in-law Ellen, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relations and friends, and especially by his confreres in religion and the staff in Miguel House.

John (Jack) Campion- Borris-in-Ossory
The death has occurred of John (Jack) Campion, Bushfield, Borris in Ossory, Co. Laois. Died January 6th 2025, peacefully in the care of staff at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise and surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Laurence and Mary, sister Maureen, brother Michael.

Martin Brophy - Crettyard
The death has occurred of Martin Brophy, of Fairymount, Crettyard, Co Laois and formerly of Ballyquirk, Gowran, Co Kilkenny. Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, after a short illness, on January 6th, 2025, under the wonderful care of the Nurses and Staff at University Hospital, Waterford.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret, much loved father of Teresa, Carmel, Patrick and Martina, adored grandfather of Saoirse, Aoibhinn, Caoimhe, Síofra and Ellen and cherished brother of John, Mary and the late Timothy.
He will be sadly missed by his loving son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Paul and Colin, Martina’s partner Ross, daughter-in-law Daiva, brother, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May Martin’s Gentle Soul Rest In Peace.

The death has occurred of Mairéad Gaffney Moore 4 Village View, Errill, Co Laois on December 31, 2024, unexpectedly at St. James's Hospital, Dublin in the presence of her heartbroken family.
Predeceased by her dad Frank. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Eoin, her adored daughters Ciara and Caoimhe, her mother Brenda, sister Marcella, mother-in-law Teresa, father-in-law Mick, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, extended family, work colleagues, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing at her mam's residence Monamondra, Errill (Eircode R32 F7D7) on Wednesday afternoon January 8 from 2 o'clock pausing for prayers at 7 o'clock. Removal on Thursday morning January 9 to Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church Errill arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Interment afterwards in St. Kieran's Cemetery Errill. Due to predicted inclement weather an opportunity to sympathise with Mairèad's family will take place in the church after her Requiem Mass.

Late Ann Munnelly - Portlaoise
The death has occurred of Ann Munnelly (née O’Connell) of Portlaoise, Co. Laois, December, 29, peacefully, at Beaumont Hospital, surrounded by her loving and devoted children, Róisín, Pauric and Elaine.
Deeply missed by their partners Emily and Ciarán, adored four grandchildren Cian, Alisha, Odhrán and Córa, brothers Dan and Tom, nieces, nephews, relatives, extended family and a large circle of friends.
