Josephine (Josie) Byrne (née Young) passed away on Saturday
Tributes have poured in following the sad passing of Josephine (Josie) Byrne (née Young), late of Ballycleary, Castletown, Laois.
Josie passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, surrounded by her loving family in the care of staff at St. Vincent's University Hospital, Elm Park, Dublin.
She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Joan, brothers Seamus and TJ.
Josie is deeply regretted by her loving husband Tony, sons James and Colm, brothers Con, Ger and Liam, sister Breeda, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Heartfelt condolences have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and remembered Josie, with one mourner writing,
"Deepest condolences to the Byrne and Young families on the passing of Josie. I will be forever grateful for the laughs and memories made in the Byrne household growing up."
Another wrote,
"My sincere sympathy to the Byrne family and also to the Young families on the sad and untimely passing of Josie. I was in secondary school with Josie. She was always happy go lucky and was so witty. Rest In Peace Josie."
While another wrote,
"Sympathies to all of you at Josephine’s passing. I used to work with Josephine in Portlaoise. I enjoyed many chats with her. Her first love was always her family."
Funeral Arrangements
Josie's funeral cortege will arrive at St. Edmunds Church, Castletown on Wednesday, January 15, for Funeral Mass at 11am which may be viewed on the link below:
