Funeral details have been confirmed in Laois for the late Pady Mulhall who died at the weekend in a fatal road crash near his home outside Stradbally.
Patrick, better known as Paddy Mulhall, Crannagh, died unexpectedly following a tragic road accident on February 23 on a stretch of the busy N80 national road between Portlaoise and Carlow.
Predeceased by his parents and brother-in-law Barney, the Laois man's death notice says he will be sadly missed and forever loved by his family, sisters Mary and Elizabeth, nieces Levi and Tara, nephews John, Liam, Colm, Richard, Anthony and Adam, grandniece Cadhla, grandnephew Liam and a large circle of friends and neighbours.
His remains repos at the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Wednesday and Thursday from 2pm until 8pm. Rosary to be recited on Thursday at 8 pm. His remains will be removed from the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Friday morning to arrive at St Joseph's Church, Ballyadams for Requiem Mass at 11 am. Interment to follow in St Joseph's Cemetery, Ballyadams.
'Shocked and saddened' Portlaoise Locksmith Jack Nolan was among those to pay tribute.
"Paddy was a great friend of ours as he called into our shop on nearly a daily basis. When he worked for all the years in Telfords Hardware he would call in every morning on his way in.
"Paddy was a gentle soul and loved the bit of craic with never a bad word.
"Over the years I had great chats with Paddy of his life and times and particularly his time as a young lad in school in Cork.
God rest Paddy's gentle soul. Deepest sympathy to his two sisters and their families," concluded Jack on Facebook.
There were also tributes on RIP.ie including one from his former colleagues at Telfords which have shops in Portlaoise and Mountrath.
"We have fond memories of working with Paddy in Telford's. His infectious laugh and smile brightened everyone's day. Paddy was a true gentleman that we all had the pleasure to work with. Please accept our deepest sympathy for your sad loss.
May Paddy rest in peace," said the post from the management and staff at Telfords.
"Sincere sympathy to the Mulhall family on the sad passing of Paddy a great character and will b missed from thumbing outside the chapel on the Stradbally Road," said Mocky Sanders.
"Sincere sympathy to the Mulhall family on the passing of Paddy who worked in telfords with Jack. We are heartbroken to say the least he was was a pure gentleman. Often we had a great joke with Paddy. Paddy may you enjoy your new home with the Lord. RIP Paddy," said Jack and Phil Kavanagh and Family.
Garda are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
They ask that any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the N80 at Crannagh, between 10.30 pm and 11 pm on February 223 to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Mr Mulhall's death is the second fatal road traffic accident to have occurred over the weekend. Aaron Hussain, aged 5, lost his life in Kilminchy, Portlaoise on Saturday afternoon.
