Eilish (Lil) Coogan - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Eilish (Lil) Coogan, Lower Main St, Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully at Droimnín Nursing Home Stradbally. In her 100th year. Former Public Health Nurse. Predeceased by her parents Denis and Elizabeth and siblings, Maureen, Jack, Rose, and Denis. Sadly missed by her siblings, Paddy, Kathleen and Nuala and her nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Monday evening 5th May from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 11.00 am Requiem Mass. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery Portlaoise.

Margaret Connor - Mountrath

The death has occurred of Margaret Connor (née McDonald) Clonbarrow, Mountrath, Laois. Margaret passed away peacefully on 4th May 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her brother Jim.

Beloved wife of Michael, and dear mother to Julie, David and Anita. Sadly, missed by her loving family, grandsons Michael, Stephen and Rory, son-in-law Mattie, daughter-in-law Mary, brother Mattie, sister Catherine, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Margaret Rest in Peace.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Monday evening (May 5th) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Tuesday morning (May 6th) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Kathleen Bracken - Portlaoise 

The death has occurred of Kathleen Bracken. (nee O`Rourke) Dun Masc Portlaoise and formerly Athy and London, 3rd May 2025. Peacefully at St James Hospital Dublin. Beloved wife of the late Fionan. Loving mother to Fergus, Ronan, Dara, and Cormac. Cherished grandmother to Evan, Cathal, Cian, and Éabha. Deeply regretted by her sister Sarah, brother Michael, daughters in law Fiona, Jaqueline, and Margaret. Brothers in law Danny and Eamon, Nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at Keegans funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm till 8 pm with rosary at 7.30 pm. Removal on Wednesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 11 am Requiem Mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.

Mary Woods- Camross

The death occurred of Mary Woods (née Cuddy) of Seafield Lawns, Avenue Road, Dundalk, Louth / Camross, Laois on May 3, 2025.  Peacefully, in the dedicated care of the staff of St. Peter’s Nursing Home, Castlebellingham. Predeceased by her beloved husband Emmet, daughter-in-law Martina, parents Jack and Julia, sister Bernadette and brothers Seán, Martin and Michael. She will be sadly missed by her sorrowing son John, daughter Bernie, son-in-law Gerry, grandchildren Emmet, Emma, Stephen, Ciaran and Aoife, great-grandchildren Grace and Baby Myles, sisters Madge, Ann, Phil and Teresa, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. May She Rest in Peace

Reposing in the Eternity Room of Quinn’s Funeral Homes, Dundalk (A91 KW52, entrance on Castletown Road) from 3pm-6pm on Sunday, May 4th. Funeral Mass on Monday, May 5th in St. Joseph's Redemptorist Church (A91 WY98) at 1.30pm. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Ravensdale.

Francis McNally- Portlaoise 

The death has occurred of Francis McNally, 5 St Brigid's Place, Portlaoise died May 3rd in the company of his loving family at Naas General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Betty and dear father of Deirdre, Imelda, Frank and Tom. Deeply regretted by his loving family. Rest In Peace.

Francis will repose in his home on Monday from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday at 12 noon to SS Peter and Paul's Church for Requiem Mass at 12.30. Burial after in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. Donations if desired to The National Council for The Blind.

Paddy Lowry - Mountrath

The death has occurred of Paddy Lowry, Kiln Lane, Mountrath, Co. Laois, a former employee of Bord Na Mona, died peacefully on 2nd May 2025 at Beaumont Hospital Dublin, surrounded by his loving family after an illness bravely borne.

Predeceased by son Jason (died in infancy). Dear son of Tim and Mary, beloved husband of Anne, adored father of Patrick, David, Nicola, Darren, Annette and Craig. Cherished grandad of Aaron, Jack and Eoin. Cherished brother of Mary, Kathleen, Breda, Sean, Margaret, Anna, Angela, Nuala, Martin, Tim, Brendan and Andrew. Sadly, missed by daughters in law Veronica, Cora, Mag and Linda. Sadly, missed by Uncle Jack Lowry, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and wide circle of family and friends. May Paddy Rest in Peace

Marie Murphy - Clonadacasey, Mountrath

The death has occurred of Marie Murphy (nee Delaney). Clonadacasey, Mountrath on May 1 peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her husband Ned and son Brian. Deeply regretted by her loving children Olive, Eamonn, Marie and Paul, brothers Brian, Ray and Noel, daughters-in-law Caroline and Norita, Marie's partner Damien, her loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at her residence (R32 PT99) on Saturday, May 3 from 4pm till 8pm and Sunday from 3pm till 8pm with rosary at 7pm on both evenings. Funeral arriving on Monday to SS Peter and Paul's Church, Portlaoise for 12 noon requiem mass followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery, Portlaoise.
