Joseph (Joe) Fitzpatrick - Rathdowney
The death has occurred of Joseph (Joe) Fitzpatrick, Murroe Wood, Murroe, Co. Limerick formerly of Kyldelligh, Rathdowney, Co. Laois passed away peacefully in the presence of his loving family on 4th May 2025 at University Hospital Limerick. Predeceased by his father Bill, mother Liz and sister Marion. Sadly missed by his loving wife Breda, sons William, Kevin and Derek, daughters in law Trisha, and Isabel, grandchildren Kiri, Sophie, Caoimhe, Fred, and Lily, brothers Michael and Pat, sister Peggy, brother in law Paddy, sisters in law Tina and Barbara, nephews, nieces, neighbours, relatives and friends. Rest in Peace.
Reposing at his home (Murroe Wood V94 VA4N) on Wednesday 7th May from 5 to 7 p.m. Arriving to the Holy Rosary Church, Murroe on Thursday 8th at 11.15 a.m. for Requiem Mass at 11.30 a.m. which will be streamed, followed by burial in Clonkeen cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations in lieu to Milford Care Centre.
Pat (Patricia) Delaney - Ballaghmore
The death has occurred of Pat (Patricia) Delaney (née Kehoe), Demesne, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary (formerly Highway Inn, Ballaghmore, Co. Laois, and Athy, Co. Kildare), peacefully at the Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Unit surrounded by her loving family on May 3 2025.
Predeceased by her husband Denis, father John W Kehoe and mother Mary C Kehoe, brothers Arien, Seán, Clement, and sister Detty.
Deeply regretted by her loving sons Arien and Donnacha, beloved sisters Eileen and Sheila, and brother Brendan, dear daughter-in-law Laetitia, adored grandchildren Liam, Luisne and Gráinne, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, wonderful neighbours and wide circle of friends. May Pat Rest in Peace.
Having donated her body to medical science, a memorial mass will take place in St Molua’s Church, Ballaghmore, Borris-in-Ossory, Co. Laois, R32 RC53, on Wednesday May 7 at 1pm.
The family would like to express its heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding care and support provided to Pat by the carers, nurses, and Director of Nursing at the Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Unit in Roscrea, by the nurses at Milford Care Centre, and by Dr Paul, Dr Niamh, and Dr Aidan at Dr Booth’s surgery in Roscrea.
Donations, if desired, to the Dean Maxwell Community Nursing Unit, Roscrea.

Eilish (Lil) Coogan - Portlaoise
The death has occurred of Eilish (Lil) Coogan, Lower Main St, Portlaoise. Passed away peacefully at Droimnín Nursing Home Stradbally. In her 100th year. Former Public Health Nurse. Predeceased by her parents Denis and Elizabeth and siblings, Maureen, Jack, Rose, and Denis. Sadly missed by her siblings, Paddy, Kathleen and Nuala and her nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. Reposing at Keegan’s funeral home on Monday evening 5th May from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with Rosary at 7.30pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul’s Church for 11.00 am Requiem Mass. Interment will follow afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s cemetery Portlaoise.
Margaret Connor - Mountrath
The death has occurred of Margaret Connor (née McDonald) Clonbarrow, Mountrath, Laois. Margaret passed away peacefully on 4th May 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her brother Jim.
Beloved wife of Michael, and dear mother to Julie, David and Anita. Sadly, missed by her loving family, grandsons Michael, Stephen and Rory, son-in-law Mattie, daughter-in-law Mary, brother Mattie, sister Catherine, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. May Margaret Rest in Peace.
Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Monday evening (May 5th) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Rosary at 8.0’clock. Removal on Tuesday morning (May 6th) to St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.

Kathleen Bracken - Portlaoise
The death has occurred of Kathleen Bracken. (nee O`Rourke) Dun Masc Portlaoise and formerly Athy and London, 3rd May 2025. Peacefully at St James Hospital Dublin. Beloved wife of the late Fionan. Loving mother to Fergus, Ronan, Dara, and Cormac. Cherished grandmother to Evan, Cathal, Cian, and Éabha. Deeply regretted by her sister Sarah, brother Michael, daughters in law Fiona, Jaqueline, and Margaret. Brothers in law Danny and Eamon, Nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Francis McNally- Portlaoise
The death has occurred of Francis McNally, 5 St Brigid's Place, Portlaoise died May 3rd in the company of his loving family at Naas General Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Betty and dear father of Deirdre, Imelda, Frank and Tom. Deeply regretted by his loving family. Rest In Peace.
Francis will repose in his home on Monday from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 8pm. Removal from his home on Tuesday at 12 noon to SS Peter and Paul's Church for Requiem Mass at 12.30. Burial after in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery. Donations if desired to The National Council for The Blind.
