Paddy Bowe- Mountrath
Paddy Bowe, Redcastle, Mountrath, Co. Laois, passed away unexpectedly on 24th May 2025.
Deeply missed by his brother, sisters, nephews, brother-in-law, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends.
May Paddy Rest in Peace

Paddy’s funeral will be arriving in St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath on Thursday morning (29th May), for Requiem Mass at 10.0’clock, followed by Burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath. Paddy’s Requiem Mass will be live streamed on www.mountrathparish.ie

Bertie Kavanagh-  Portarlington
Formerly of Ballymorris, Portarlington County Laois. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family at the Regional Hospital Tullamore and previously in the wonderful care of the staff of Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington. Dear Dad of the late Bridget. Deeply regretted by his loving son Martin, daughter Caroline and their mother Bridget, grandchildren Emily, Jamie, Carleigh and in the very near future 2 more grandchildren, daughter-in-law Marie, brother Dinny, sister Mossie, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his parents William and Margaret, brothers Billy, Charlie, Jack and Paddy, sisters Carmel, Sadie and Madeline. May He Rest In Peace. 

Reposing at Maher's Chapel of Rest Portarlington (eircode R32 X5XV) on Thursday evening from 6pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Friday morning at 9:20am arriving St Michael's Church Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael's Cemetery Portarlington.

Dylan Joseph Steele - Barrowhouse

The death occurred of Dylan Joseph Steele of  Shanganaghbeg, Barrowhouse, Laois / Athy, Kildare on May 25, 2025. 

Our beautiful, brave, treasured and cherished Dylan heartbreakingly left this world on Sunday 25th May, 2025 for a better place, to be with his beloved Grandad Noel. Surrounded by his loving family and so many friends he peacefully closed his eyes and gained his angel wings. So deeply loved and adored.

Deeply regretted by his loving mother Paula, Dad Liam, sister Kerri, step-father Tom, step-brother Cian, Nanny Betty, aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends. Rest in Peace

Reposing at Rigney's Funeral Home, Athy (R14 TX26) on Tuesday evening (May 27th) from 5pm until the conclusion of the Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Wednesday morning (May 28th) to arrive at St. Mary's Church, Barrowhouse for Requiem Mass at 10am. Removal afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium for cremation service at 1.30pm.

Life will never be the same without you Dyl. Fly freely now as you are no longer suffering.

Bernadette Bergin - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Bernadette (Detta) Bergin. (nee Connell) Marian Ave. Portlaoise May 26th 2025. Passed in her 91st year, after an illness bravely borne, peacefully surrounded by her loving family. In the tender care of Oakdale Nursing Home . Beloved wife of the late Billy Bergin. Dearly loved mother to John and Laura. Cherished grandmother to Lara, Wesley, Séan, Hannah, and Caroline. Great granddaughter Katelyn. Deeply regretted by her loving family. Daughter in law Siobhán. Nieces, nephew, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace. 

Reposing at Keegans Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6.30 pm until 8 pm with rosary at 7.30 pm. Requiem mass at 11 am on Wednesday in Church of the Holy Cross, Ratheniska Church. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery . Family flowers only. Donations if desired to the Oakdale Residents Fund. Larry Brady - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Larry Brady. Beechlawn. Mountmellick Rd, Portlaoise. (R32R253) May 26th 2025 . Peacefully at home surrounded by his caring family. Loving husband of June and dearly loved father to Anthony, Anne and Paddy. Cherished grandfather to Tommy, Liam, Mena, Emmet, Niamh, Evan, Luke, Jamie and Tony. Predeceased by his Father, Tony Brady. Deeply regretted by his loving Mother Rita, brothers Kevin, Murt, and Gaby, sisters Yvonne and Bernie, daughters in law Sarah and Marese, son in law Joe, brothers in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces , relatives, friends and all his customers and friends in Brady Revovery. May he rest in peace

Reposing at his home on Wednesday from 4 pm until 8 pm. House Private outside of these hours. Removal on Thursday to arrive at SS Peter and Paul's Church for 11 am requiem mass. Burial afterwards in SS Peter and Paul's Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations to Laois Hospice Foundation are welcome.

Peggy Foster - Camross

The death has occurred of Peggy Foster (née Cuddy), late of Bray, Co. Wicklow and formerly of Camross, Co. Laois, died peacefully on 26th May 2025, in her 96th year, surrounded by her loving family, at St. Vincent’s University Hospital, Dublin, after a short illness.

Beloved wife of John, much loved mother of Pat, cherished Nana of Rufus, Justine and Aisling, caring mother-in-law of Mary, dearly loved sister of Kathleen and the late Nan, Eilish and Seán, sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Michael and Pat and by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Peggy's family wish to acknowledge the exceptional care given by Anne Costello and her wonderful team in Tara Care Centre, Bray during her time there.

Reposing in Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray on Wednesday (28th May) from 4pm-6pm. Funeral Mass on Thursday (29th May) at 10am in the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer, Main Street, Bray followed by burial in St. Mochonog’s Cemetery, Kilmacanogue.

Claudette Bickerdike - Portlaoise 

The death has occurred of Claudette Bickerdike nee Godfrey, Portlaoise and late of Youghal, Co. Cork, peacefully in Portlaoise General Hospital on May 25th 2025, beloved wife of the late Bob and much loved Mam of Marcus, Kristen and Vernon, she will be sadly missed by her loving family, grandchildren, daughter-in-law sharon, son in law Gerry, relatives, neighbours and friends. Rest in Peace

Claudettes funeral service will take place in St Mary Collegiate Church, Youghal on Thursday at 12.30pm and burial will take place in St Mary's Collegiate Church Grounds.

Brendan Michael Hartnett - Portarlington 
Michael passed away peacefully in the company of his loving family in Ofalia House, Edenderry, Co. Offaly. Predeceased by his brother Bernard. Sadly missed by his loving wife Anne, his sons Keith and Gerard and his daughter Kirsten, son in law Damian, daughters in law Mary and Niamh, his adored grandchildren Laurence, Sarah, Rachael, Michelle, Louise, Noah, Ellen and his sister Maura, his niece Bernie and his nephew Leon, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Sheila Fleming (née Julian)- Timahoe
The death has occurred of Sheila Fleming (née Julian), Cremorgan , Timahoe on the 25th May, 2025, unexpectedly but peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her parents John & Margaret and sisters Mary, Eileen, Anne , Jo & her brother Jim. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Andy, daughter Marguerite and sons Joe & Andrew , sister Kathleen , brothers John and Edward, son-in-law Michèal, daughter-in-law Kathryn and grandchildren Andy, Jodi & James, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
