Pat Purcell- Carlow Town, Carlow / Killeshin, Laois

Pat Purcell of 8 Kennedy St, Carlow, passed away peacefully on September 12th, 2025 at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny.

Adored uncle of all his nieces and nephews, especially Patrice, Jean, Moira and Dee, beloved brother of Moira, Doris, Michael, Ned and the late John and Margaret, and much loved son of the late Michael and Essie.

He will be sadly missed by his loving brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. May Pat’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq. (Eircode R93 C863) on Sunday, September 14th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Monday at 10.30am to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Newlands Cross Crematorium arriving for Cremation service at 1.30pm.

Micheal Sims- Ballinakill / Abbeyleix 

Michael died at The Regional Hospital Portlaoise on Wednesday 10 September. He is predeceased by his parents Michael and Maureen, his infant brother and his brother Joe. Sadly missed by his partner Margaret, son Gary, stepsons Clifford, Jack and Michael, their partners Michelle, Jessica and Jennifer, brothers Matthew and David, sisters June and Kathleen, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Reposing at the Chapel of Rest adjoining The Church of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix from 5pm on Friday evening concluding with prayers at 7pm. Gemma Wiseley- Rosenallis

Gemma Wiseley 16 Meadowbrook, Rosenallis, Co. Laois. Died 11th of September 2025. Predeceased by her Father Joe and brother Joseph.

Sadly missed by her daughters Alana, Larissa and Pearl, her mother Kathleen and sisters and brothers Marie, John, Caroline, Fiona, Remona, Niall, Regina, nieces, nephew friends and neighbours.

Annette Reilly - Rathdowney

The death has occurred peacefully of Annette Reilly (née Loughlin) Blanchardstown, Dublin and formerly of 1 Moore Street, Rathdowney, on September 10 in the loving care of the staff at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick (Paddy), much-loved and cherished mother of Patrick, Ann Marie and James and an adored grandmother of Liam, Seamus and Teagan. Predeceased by her mother Maura and father John and sisters Eleanor and Mary. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, grandchildren, Patrick’s partner Dina, Ann Marie’s partner Tony, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Church Avenue, Blanchardstown on Monday evening (September 15th) from 5 pm to 7 pm. Removal on Tuesday morning (September 16th) St Patrick’s Church, Corduff, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 am followed by burial in Rooske Cemetery, Dunboyne, Co. Meath. Agnes Mary Whelan - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Agnes Mary Whelan (née Lawless), 71 Sefton Road, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, England, formerly  O'Moore Place, Portlaoise/Castletown/Stradbally who died on September 7th 2025.

Died unexpectedly at her daughter's residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Predeceased by her parents Nancy (Annie) and Jack, brothers Charlie, Jim, Bill, Martin, John, sisters Anne, Julie and Nora.

Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving children, Threasa, Thomas, Johnny, Shaidine and Mark, her 12 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, sisters Mary and Mag, brothers Michael and PJ, daughters-in-law, son-in-law, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and her large circle of friends in Ireland and UK.

Agnes will repose at Austin's Funeral Home, 9-11 Letchmore Road, Stevenage, Hertfordshire, SG1 3JH, with her funeral taking place at a later date.

Geraldine Marum-Crossan- Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Geraldine Marum-Crossan, Lake Drive, Kilminchy, Portlaoise and formerly Naas Co Kildare. Died peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, on 9th September, 2025.

Predeceased by her parents Edward and Ann, brother Raymond and nephew Stephen, loving wife to Mick, wonderful and loving mother to Stephanie, Amanda, Amber and Eve.

Sadly missed by her sons-in-law, her adored grandchildren Oliver, Fionn, Reuben and Caleb, her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Rest in Peace.

Reposing at her residence R32W40K on Thursday September 11th from 5pm till 8pm with Rosary at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am in SS Peter and Pauls Church, Portlaoise. Followed by interment in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery, Portlaoise.

The death has occurred of Sheila Callaghan, (Portlaoise, Co. Laois and formerly of Lucan, Co. Dublin) September 9th, 2025. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the excellent care of the staff at Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore.

Beloved sister of Ann, Noel, Mary, Ollie, Dolores and Bernard and much loved aunt. Sadly missed by her loving sisters, brothers, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred suddenly of Bridget Boyle (née Ward) No.1 Court View, Stradbally, and formerly No 20 The Crescent, Ballylinan, and Tuam, Co. Galway.

Pre-deceased by her parents Davy & Biddy; Sisters Tracy & Annie; and Brothers Martin and Pat.
