The death has occurred of Maria (Marita) Serres Station Road, Portarlington. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St Francis Hospice Blanchardstown on the 29th September, 2025, following a short illness . Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Maria (Caffa-Coleman), her loving son Alberto (Caffa), son-in-law Colm, daughter-in-law Marta, her cherished grandchildren Sophia, Lucas and Alejandra, her brothers Leonel, Wilfredo and Luis, her sister Elena, nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends. May Marita's Gentle Soul Rest In Peace. A Private Funeral Ceremony To Take Place.
Anna Melia (nee Lyons) Ashley Gardens Portlaoise and late of Kill Co. Kildare. 26th Sept 2025. Peacefully in the loving care of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing home. Predeceased by her sons Derek, Brian and David. Beloved wife to Pat and loving mother to Elaine (Hickey) and Alan. Cherished grandmother to Cian, Jamie, Sophie, Rebecca and Odhrán.
Deeply regretted by her loving family. Son in law Ken, daughter in law Siobhán. Brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces. Relative and extended family and friends.
May she rest in peace. Reposing at Keegans Funeral home on Monday evening from 6 pm until 7.30 pm, with rosary at 7 pm. Removal on Tuesday to arrive at SS Peter and Pauls Church for 11 am requiem mass. Interment will follow in SS Peter and Pauls Cemetery Portlaoise.

The death has occurred of Matthew (Matt) Mahon Derryguile, Mountmellick, Co. Laois / formerly of Walsh Island, Geashill, Co. Offaly. It is with heavy hearts that the Mahon family announce the sudden passing of their dear Matt on Thursday the 25th of September 2025.
Husband to his adoring wife and soulmate, Caroline. Doting father and best friend to his beautiful children, Clíona, Aoife and Jack. Predeceased by his father Tom, sister Catherine and brother Pauric. Brother to Anne, Tomás, Siobhán, Marguerite, and Noel. Son to Joan, Son in law to Charlie and Mary. Brother in law to Sinéad, Alan, Charlie, Orla and Kevin. Beloved by his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours. Admired by all who knew him, and loved him, in his sporting community. A friend to all he met, an inspiration to all who he loved. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
Matt will be repose at home in Derryguile (R32P0A6) on Sunday from 2pm. Recital of The Rosary at 6pm. Funeral arriving to St. Joseph’s Church Mountmellick for Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 11am via Smiths Corner.

Elizabeth (Betty) Davis (née Fitzpatrick)- Old Pound, Ballybrittas
Peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St Vincent's Community Nursing Unit Mountmellick on Sunday, September 28, 2025. Predeceased by her beloved husband Johnny, her parents Mark and Margaret and her brother Joe. Lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sons and daughters Martina, Brid, Tom, John, Sinèad, Ailish, Róisín and Rònàn, her beloved brother Eddie, her adored grandchildren Ed, Barry, Aimèe, Ella, Doireann, Pat, Aoife, Emily, John, Luis, Marcos, Sarah, Conor, Darragh, Juliette and Emorine, her great-grandson Pàidì, sons-in-law and daughters-in-law Eddie, John, Kay, Juan, Terry and Lorine, brother-in-law Thomas, sisters-in-law Kathleen, June and Marie, grandson-in-law Paddy, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Cecil Pearson of Leopardstown Drive, Blackrock and formerly of Durrow, Co. Laois, died peacefully on 28th September 2025 at Belmont House Nursing Home, Galloping Green.
Beloved husband of Hannah and brother of the late Florence. He will be sadly missed by his wife, extended family and a wide circle of friends.
Reposing in Colliers Funeral Home, Old Connaught Avenue, Bray, A98 PX65 from 10.30am on Thursday (Oct.2) until a Funeral Service takes place in the funeral home at 11.30am. Burial will take place after the service in Shanganagh Cemetery.

Bridget (Breda) Byrne (née Dermody) of Killabban, Ballylinan, Co Laois, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on September 28th, 2025 at her loving daughter Claire’s home, Tullow, Co Carlow.
Beloved wife of the late Liam, much loved mother of Willie, Bridget, Seamus, Claire and the late Pauline, Peggy and Ollie, adored grandmother of Óran, Síofra, Éirinn, Niamh, Fiona, David, Amy, Brendan, Brian, Melissa, Mark and Stephen and cherished sister of Peggy and the late Kathy, Maisey, Jim, Joe, Tom and Sheila.
