Sheila Drury - Stradbally

The death has occurred of Sheila Drury (née Cahill), Stradbally, Co. Laois and formerly of Cricklewood, London and Ballyouskill, Co. Kilkenny, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the care of the staff at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise on 17th February 2026. Predeceased by her beloved husband Brendan, daughter Marie, sister Anne, and her parents Patrick and Anne. Sheila will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her devoted son Paul, sisters Catherine and Maura, brother Johnny, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and her many friends in Ireland and London. May Sheila Rest In Peace.

Sheila will repose in the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11am on Friday followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium for family and close friends. House Private Please

Paddy (Patrick) Carroll- Abbeyleix

The death has occurred of Paddy (Patrick) Carroll of Knapton, Abbeyleix.  Sadly passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 17, 2026. 

Predeceased by his beloved wife Mary, son Fabian, granddaughter Clodagh, son-in-law Eddie and daughter-in-law Val. Adored father to Padraigh (Pat), Mary, Clive and Patrice. Much loved Grandad to Davina, Shane, Patrick, Sarah, Mary, Aaron, Elliot, Ben, Noah, Louis, and Elsa Mae, and greatgrandson Paidi, his loving sister Bridie Ryan, daughters-in-law Carol and Mags, Patrice's partner Michael, nephews, nieces, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, extended family relatives and friends.

Paddy will repose at his home on Thursday from 2pm. until 8pm. with prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 12noon in the Church Of The Most Holy Rosary, Abbeyleix with burial afterwards in the adjoining Cemetery. House private on Friday morning please.

Annie (Eithne) Boyle- Stradbally

The death has occurred of Annie (Eithne) Boyle (née Devoy) of Kilmurray, Stradbally.   Eithne passed away peacefully at her residence in her 98th year. Surrounded by her family on February 17, 2026. Predeceased by her father Thomas, Mother Margaret, her brothers Finn, Liam, TJ and Noel. Sadly missed by her husband Denis, her daughter Colette, and her son Noel, grandchildren Gerard, Aoife, Aisling, and great grandchild Páidí, Son in law Kevin and daughter in law Teresa, relatives, neighbours and friends.May Eithne Rest In Peace

Eithne will be reposing on Thursday evening from 5pm – 8pm with the recital of the rosary at 8pm. Martin O'Reilly - Portlaoise

The death has occurred of Martin O'Reilly, Glenageary, Co Dublin, late of Manchester and Portlaoise, on February 17, 2026, peacefully in the kind care of all the staff of St Vincent’s Hospital.

Beloved husband of the late Ellen Mary (Nell), loving father of Michael, Jim and Geraldine. Sadly missed by his children, sons-in-law Tony and John, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren Alison, Claire, Jamie, Hannah and Sam, great grandchildren Teddy and Rosie, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours, friends and his many work colleagues in the various branches of the Irish Postal Service. Remembering also his late daughters Josephine-Anne and Joan and his son-in-law Sean.

Reposing Thursday, February 19 in Quinn’s of Glasthule A96EW88 from 4pm to 6pm. Removal Friday, February 20 to St. Michael’s Church, Dun Laoghaire arriving for 11.30am Funeral Mass followed by burial in Shanganagh Cemetery. Family flowers only please.

Bridget Keogh - Killeshin

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Keogh, (née Corcoran), (member of The Holy Cross Sodality) of Killeshin and formerly of Barnhill, Castledermot, Co Kildare, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, on February 17, 2026 at her home.

Beloved wife of the late Patrick, much-loved mother of Helen, Alice, Bernard and the late John, adored grandmother of Jane, Pádraic, Brid, Kate, Shauna, Padraic, Justin and Laura, treasured great-grandmother of Saoirse and Páidí and cherished sister of Alice and the late Johney, Mary Ann and Jim.

She will be sadly missed by her loving son, daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law Ger, daughter-in-law Margaret, Bernard’s partner Marie, sister, nephews, nieces, relatives, friends and good neighbours.

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Thursday, February 19, from 3.30pm concluding with Prayers at 8pm that evening.

Following prayers, Bridie will be brought home to spend her final night surrounded by the comfort of her own home. Removal from her home on Friday morning at 10.30am to The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

Una Walshe - Durrow

The death occurred of Una Walshe, (née McGrane), Moyne, Durrow and formerly of Moydow, Co Longford, unexpectedly but peacefully, at her home on Monday, February 16, 2026.

Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Kathleen, her sisters Bernadette and Kathleen and her brother James. Deeply regretted by her loving husband and best friend Gerry, loving mother to Vincent, Derek and Eline, cherished grandmother to Joseph, Jordan, Kieran and Sandra, sadly missed by her daughter-in-law Deirdre, sister Theresa, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Una will repose in Durrow parish centre (R32H327), on Thursday, 19th February from 5.00 pm until 8.00pm. Cremation will take place on Friday 20th February, at 12.30 pm at Newlands Cross Crematorium. Pat 'The Doc' Delaney - Rathdowney

The death took place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 of Pat (The Doc) Delaney, Coolkerry, Rathdowney, Co. Laois.

Peacefully in the presence of his loving sister Carmel at her residence, Levalley, Rathdowney.

Predeceased by his parents, Michael and Annie (née Campion), his brothers Denis and Donal and his sister Theresa. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his sister Carmel, nephews Dominic, Andrew and Stephen, grandnieces, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at O'Sullivan's Funeral Home, Rathdowney (Eircode R32 NY24) on Tuesday, February 17 from 5 pm pausing for prayers at 7 pm. Margaret Coss - Mountmellick

The death has taken place of Margaret (Maggie) Coss, nee Lalor, 11 Harbour Court & formerly of Twomey Park, Mountmellick.

Passed away peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 15 2026.

Predeceased by her late husband John, her parents Essie and Tom Lalor, her sons and daughters and her late grandchildren.

Deeply regretted by her loving sons, David, Ken and Brendan and her daughters, Linda and Sandra, daughters-in-law, 25 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren, relatives, neighbours and her many friends.

Reposing in Moloney's Funeral Home Mountmellick on Tuesday, February 17 from 5pm. Recital of the Rosary 6:30 pm.

Removal on Wednesday at 10:50 am to St. Joseph's Church, Mountmellick, arriving for 11 am Requiem mass.

The death has occurred of Sarah (Sadie) Duffy, (née Brophy), Main Street, Monasterevin, formerly of Lough, Portarlington peacefully surrounded by her loving family on February 16, 2026.

Predeceased by her husband Louis, parents James and Christine, her infant brother Patrick, sister Elizabeth and brother Matt.

Cherished mother of Patrick, Anne, Louis, Paul, Brian and Kevin. Sadie will be sadly missed by her daughters-in-law Anna, Tina, Liz and Lisa-Marie, her son-in-law Thomas and her many grandchildren.

Deeply regretted by her sisters Maura and Christina, her brothers Sean and Seamus, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.

The death occurred of Jer Peters, Cuan Bhride, Rathdowney, on  February 15, 2026 suddenly at his residence.

Predeceased by his parents Martha and William, brothers William, John and Joe, and sisters Mary, Kathleen and Ann.

The death occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Smyth, Droughill, Portarlington, formerly of Palmerstown, Dublin and late Eircom peacefully in his 98th year while in the loving care of his family at Elm Hall Nursing Home Cellbridge.

Loving husband of the late Maura and dear dad of the late Michael. Beloved father of Elizabeth, Caroline, Susan, Colin, June, Trevor, Graham and Fiona. Paddy will be sadly missed by his sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, sisters-in-law, extended family, friends and neighbours.
