It was a day to remember for Scoil Chríost Rí as they made their debut in the Leinster Junior Cup in stunning fashion, securing a resounding 57-0 victory over Wilson's Hospital School, the reigning Leinster 10-a-side champions.

Playing away from home, SCR faced a challenging draw but rose to the occasion with confidence and determination. The team’s meticulous preparation and game plan paid dividends as they took to the field with unwavering intensity and physicality.

Led by captain Lily Brophy, who delivered a Player of the Match performance, SCR stamped their authority from the first whistle. After breaking through Wilson’s defence just 10 minutes into the match, the Portlaoise school never looked back, dominating in all areas of play.

There was further cause for celebration as Saffron Adams earned a call-up to train with the North Midlands squad, a recognition of her standout display during the game.

This victory not only marks an historic milestone for Scoil Chríost Rí but also sets a high standard for the team as they continue their journey in the Leinster Junior Cup. They will face Gorey Community School in the quarter-final on Wednesday, February 5.
