Portlaoise College has introduced an online application process as the school prepares to hold its Open Days.
The school has taken a significant step forward in enhancing accessibility and convenience for prospective students by introducing a user-friendly online application process.
“Parents can apply online at www.portlaoisecollege.ie or by scanning the QR code on the school's brochure. This initiative simplifies the application procedure and aligns with the evolving digital landscape. Parents can navigate the application process effortlessly, offering them a seamless and user-friendly experience,” said Principal Noel Daly.
He was speaking ahead of the school's upcoming Open Nights on Wednesday, September 27 and Thursday, September 28 from 7 to 9pm.
The school is again running two Open Nights this year due to the demand from parents. The Open Nights provide prospective students and their families with a firsthand look at the vibrant educational environment the college offers. The highlight of the evening is the guided tour of the campus with teachers and students where students are given an interactive insight into life at the school.
Mr Daly said that 'the tours allow students to visualise their educational journey and to speak with staff who are on hand to answer questions and share their insights into our commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment. We offer a broad and expanding curriculum with 22 subjects available in Junior Cycle and 25 in Senior Cycle,'.
Applications open on Sunday, October 1 and close on Monday, October 23.
