Students taking part in Dunamase College's Culture Day.
Teachers at Dunamase College have conducted research to identify how many nationalities attend the school as part of their journey to become a ‘Champion School of Sanctuary’.
They discovered that there are over 25 different nationalities in the community and to celebrate their diversity the school held an extensive exhibition showcasing each of these cultures on March 14.
This annual ‘Culture Day’ presented the beautiful tapestry of traditions, flavours, and rhythms from all around the globe. From vibrant flags, mouth-watering cuisines, ethnic folk dances, sounds and lyrics from distant shores, chattering in native tongue to a colourful display of traditional attire.
"All members of our community embraced this wholesome day, with a genuine sense of pride and enthusiasm in the air," said a school spokesperson.
"As a Champion School of Sanctuary the school will strive to uphold this tradition as an important event in every academic year’s calendar, placing it at the heart of our school’s identity.
"Dunamase College is leading the way in inclusivity, embracing diversity one culture at a time."
