There are now almost 370 Ukrainian students enrolled in school in Laois, according to the latest figures from the Department of Education.
There are 140 Ukrainian students enrolled in post primary schools and 229 in primary schools giving a total of 369 children in the school system in the county.
The figures were released following a parliamentary question by Deputy Jim O'Callaghan.
Norma Foley, Minister for Education replied: "As of 12 April 2024, 18,268 Ukrainian pupils are enrolled in Irish schools. Out of that figure, 11,348 of these pupils had enrolled in primary schools, while 6,920 pupils had enrolled in post-primary schools."
