Laois Gardaí have reminded students receiving their leaving cert results today that they will not define your future. Across the country 60,839 students will receive their state examination results on Friday, August 23.
An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly have reminded students of the supports out there for anyone that need them.
"We wish all Leaving Certificate Students the best of luck as they are due to receive their results. Students, please do remember that your results do not define you as a person nor will they define your future," said Gardaí.
"There are those of you who will get the results that you have been hoping for but there are also those who will not and who will feel disappointed as a result. Please be very mindful of this and be kind to your fellow Students and Friends.
"The Schools will offer support to you and your Parents/Guardians but there are also a number of other places where advice and support may be sought.
"We wish you all every happiness in the world and success in whichever path you choose to take! We may even have a few new recruits amongst ye!"
