Met Éireann has issued another Status Orange weather warning for low temperatures and icy conditions in Laois.
People are being warned of "extremely cold" temperatures with widespread "severe frost and ice" along with lying snow in some parts of the county.
Schools across the Laois continue to confirm whether they will remain closed in the face of bad weather, or reopen for the first time since the Christmas break.

Schools confirming they will OPEN on Friday Jan 10
Mountmellick Community School will reopen tomorrow, Fri 10th January with classes commencing at 9.00am.
Killenard NS will open from 10am tomorrow, with classes starting at 10:20am. This plan is contingent and parents will be notified on the Aladdin app of potential changes.
The Heath NS will reopen Friday, January 10. Parents are asked to keep an eye on messages on Aladdin for any changes in the morning due to cold weather forecast tonight.
Emo NS are opening on Friday, January 10 from 11am to 1pm.
