Camross Run4theHills in 2017.
The 2025 edition of the great Run4theHills fundraiser in aid of Camross National School is back this April and the organisers of this year's event are reaching out to as many people as possible so that the children have up-to-date computer equipment.
The Camross NS Run4theHills organisers say they are delighted to invite people to participate in or donate to the annual event which takes place this year Sunday, April 13.
While each year raises critical funds for the education of the children, there is an extra special need this year.
"The event is a vital fundraiser for the school especially this year as the school is in desperate need of new computers as a lot of the current PCs in the school for the children had been running off Windows 5, this is no longer supported by Windows.
"So to run in line with our usual annual fundraising, this year we are trying to put a big push on replacing as many of these outdated PCs with new laptops," said the parents.
The run starts in the village starting at 10am. There will be 10k and 5k route options for participants.
"We hope everyone can make it on the day but if you can't, there is still an option to support the run by donating," say the parents.
People can donate at idonate here. Everyone that donates will be entered into a raffle for some amazing prizes on the day. You must enter your name publicly when donating for details to be included in the draw.
Deadline for entry into the draw for online donations is 10 pm April 12, at which time online donations will be paused.
Donations can be made in person on the day of the race. The donation link will be made live again after the draw for one week for anyone who has missed the draw but would still like to donate.
People are encouraged to register in advance at https://forms.gle/cKu2G5P7M41L1Jmo9
Registration for the 10km run takes place between 10-10:30am with the race starting at 10:45am. The 5km run registration takes place 10-10:45am with the race start 11 am.

The 5k route starts in Camross Village, before taking an immediate right at Scully's cross, followed by a relatively flat section to get you warmed up. Over Kilmartin's bridge before swinging left and tackling the steepest part of the course at Tinnakill where you can grab a drink at our water station at the top. Turning left at Cole's Cross, you begin a nice descent before turning left towards Garafin at the 2km mark. The course then levels out about the mid-way point before turning left onto Longford Lane. A nice flat stretch until you finish back in Camross village where you can enjoy some well earned refreshments in the Community Hall.
The 10k run takes the same initial route as the 5k run but instead of turning left at Garafin, the route continues straight on to Cardtown before taking a left turn towards Cappanarrow Bridge. There is a gradual climb along this section reaching the peak just before Cappanarrow Bridge. There is a nice descent to finish the last 2km stretch back into Camross Village where you can enjoy some well-earned refreshments in the Community Hall.
